As plug & play system the DM60 coloring system is very user-friendly and provides reproducible coloring results. All color pigments and additives are inside our color cartrigdes. These cartidges are available in four different sizes (S, M, L, XL) and should be chosen according to the volume of your parts. The process cycle is very easy. First, the cartridge is scaned by the integrated RFID reader. After that you put it in the basket of the DM60 together with the parts you would like to dye.
Submerged in a water bath, the dye stuff penetrates the plastic through a chemical reaction under pressure and heat. The penetration depth of the dye stuff in our optimized dipping method is typically 0.2 mm and can even be enhanced using our intensive color penetration solution. In the process, no material application occurs and the method can be used regardless of geometry – an important point in the field of additive manufacturing.
For the first time, it’s possible to show almost every RAL and Pantone color on laser sintered parts with the DM60 coloring machine. Beside our 17 standard colors also RAL and Pantone codes can be dyed in the DM60. Custom color developments based on color samples are also possible.

Parts that are colored with DyeMansion technology are skin-safe. Some of these products like 3D printed eyewear or ortheses are in daily use since more than two years now.
The DyeMansion coloring solution can be used for parts of all geometrics. Even very filigrane or complex parts geht through the coloring process without any problems.
Submerged in a water bath, the dyestuff penetrates the plastic through a chemical reaction under pressure and heat. In this way the dye reaches spots that cannot be colored homogeneous with a painting.
Due to the chemical reaction that occurs between dye and material, the parts retain their geometric properties. Unlike if painting the parts, there is no material layer.

The whole process and our special dyes and additives are based on laser sintered materials. Thus, the dye stuff and the additives allow us to achieve a high UV-resistance. Our colors not only stay fresh for a long time, but an unwanted “yellowing” on SLS parts is substantially reduced.
Porous and vulnerable parts turn into high quality finished products that set a totally new qualitystandard with their longevity. Some of our colored products are in daily use since more than two years and their color is still UV-stable and brilliant.
The technology and process parameters of the DM60 dyeing machine are designed specifically for the two most frequently used plastics in additive manufacturing, PA11 and PA12. In addition, we also have experience with other plastics which upon request can also be colored at a corresponding temperature in the DM60, including: TPE, PrimePart, PA6, Alumide, PP, ABS, and many more.

All kind of parts with a maximum diameter of 400 mm and a height of 450 mm can be colored in the DM60. The dyeing volume can be individually adjusted to the quantity of your parts, depending on the choice of the color cartridge.

Color variety is an important prerequisite for a technology that promises to redesign manufacturing processes of the future. With the DM60 coloring machine, it’s possible to dye reproducible RAL and Pantone colors on laser sintered parts for the first time. These individual color developments are either based on RAL or Pantone codes or on color samples and depend on the previous surface treatment of the parts. In order to show the corporate design of your company on laser sintered parts, individual color developments are indispensable.
Due to varying materials and surface treatments, it is a great challenge to be able to reproduce the entire color spectrum. We are able to develop colors on different materials through various techniques, thanks to our in-house, developed software and a lot of experience gained in the meantime.
Since our coloring solution is accompanied by a chemical process and reacts with the material, custom color developments need to be done directly on your parts. Even small changes in the color recipe or surface finish can have a huge impact on the final result of the color.
